Hi there! We’re Randy and Ida, the proud owners of Play Outdoors Texas. As parents to three vibrant daughters, our journey has been shaped by a deep love for family, fun, and the outdoors. Join us as we share our story and our passion for outdoor adventure!
As a retired law enforcement officer, I witnessed firsthand the challenges facing families and society today. The deterioration of family bonds and the rise of screen time addiction among children deeply troubled me. My wife Ida, an award-winning school teacher, shared my concerns. Together, we understood that children needed more than digital distractions; they needed the enriching experiences that only family and outdoor activities could provide. From purchasing and installing our own backyard trampolines and swingsets to groundwork and construction, we realized the joy of investing into our own space.
Driven by our passion for family and fun, we embarked on a mission to make a difference. In 2019, Play Outdoors Lubbock was born out of a desire to offer families the tools they need to reconnect, play, and thrive. By expanding from Play Outdoors Lubbock to Play Outdoors Texas, we’ve dedicated ourselves to providing families from the Amarillo (Texas Panhandle), to Lubbock (West Texas), and across to the Dallas/Fort Worth (North Texas) area with access to premium outdoor products that inspire joy, organization and togetherness. We also help cities, schools, churches, daycares and businesses to create fun and exiciting spaces with our commercial product selection. We have found ways to impact people at every level with our business model and product selection. It started with backyards and now spans to all places you and your family “do life.”
